With hospital bills, teeny tiny shoes, and all the new-fangled equipment available for babies these days things can get pretty pricey. Add in classes and activities and it leaves you wondering if you should be taking on an extra job (or seven). These diverse and active classes focus on each age group’s individual stages by incorporating music, gross motor skills, and social interaction. Discussion time is included to help parents learn about their child’s development.

Babies Play Music at The Urban Chalkboard

Babies from birth to 18 months are invited to bring a caregiver and sing, play, and move to songs and nursery rhymes and explore the guitar, piano, and percussion instruments.
Wednesdays 9:30 – 10:00 beginning Sept. 7th

Music Bunnies and Music Pups at The Music Playhouse
(Broad Ripple and Carmel)
This research based class for birth to 6 months (Bunnies) and birth to 5 years (pups) plays on the young brain’s ability to make connections to music. The enchanting teachers and catchy tunes will have you singing along in no time.

Swimming at Infant Self Rescue
(various Indy-area locations)
Less fun but with infinite function, these daily lessons (ten minutes each) teach babies 6 months and up how to survive in the event that they fall into the water. With drowning leading the US in accidental deaths for children under 4 these classes teach children the basics of water safety while providing a strong foundation of swimming skills.
$75 a week for 5 lessons

Swimming is an important skill and taking classes with your baby can be an excellent bonding experience.
Tiny Tykes at My Gym
(Fishers)
Little ones 7 months to 13 months old can join the fun and work on motor skills through stretches, exercises, dances, and even tumbling in this parent-child class. Experienced teachers guide and stimulate the babies based on their specific needs and interests.
